LOS GATOS, Calif. -

Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputies are investigating several recent burglaries that have occurred in the Summit area.

Around 10:40 a.m. Friday, an unidentified male suspect knocked on the door of a Jensen Road residence, then tried opening the locked door when the resident didn't answer. After trying the rear door, which also as locked, the man left without making entry.

The resident went to the street and saw a Latino or African-American male getting into a silver Ford Focus with the license plate # 6YNM393. The man, believed to be between 20 and 30 years of age, became startled when the resident called out and he drove off. He's described as being of medium build and approximately 5'6" to 5'8" in height.

The suspect fled from Jensen Road after burglarizing a different residence, Sgt. Patrick Dimick said.

A third burglary occurred on Outer Zayante Road, close to Jensen Road, though no suspect or suspect vehicle was spotted.

Deputies believe the same Ford Focus is associated with multiple recent burglaries in the Lafayette area.

Residents are urged to secure their homes and be on the lookout for suspicious individuals and vehicles. Do not contact the suspects and immediately call 911.
