Salinas Police are searching for those people who may be responsible for several shootings over the weekend where the victims include an 11 year old boy.
Police said two brothers are recovering from gunshot wounds Monday after a teen opened fire on them Sunday night.
It happened on the 1100 block of Eagle Drive. Police say a Hispanic teen approached the brothers, ages 19 and 11, and reportedly said something to the victims. The suspect pulled out a handgun and fired one time at the brothers. Police say the shot grazed the 19-year-old's back and hit the 11-year-old in the upper arm. Both victims were treated locally with non-life threatening injuries. Police say there is no suspect information available at this time.
Police are also on the hunt for the person who shot at two men Sunday night.
It happened on the 700 block of Elkington Ave. Police say the victims, ages 25 and 22, were standing in front of an apartment when three to four Hispanic men approached them. One victim saw that at least one of the suspects was holding a handgun, so he turned and ran. Police say that's when multiple shots were fired. One victim was hit several times in the pelvic area. The other was hit in both of his lower legs. No words were exchanged prior to the shooting. All three suspects may have been armed with handguns and involved in the shooting. Nobody was able to say where the suspects fled after the incident as everyone was taking cover or trying to get away.
The victim that was hit in the pelvic area was flown to a Bay Area hospital. The victim hit in the legs was treated locally. This shooting is being investigated as gang related.
