Police: Man Broke into Monterey Spa and Sexually Assaulted Woman

MONTEREY, Calif. -

A Seaside man has been arrested after police said that he broke into a spa and tried to rape one of the customers Sunday night.

Responding officers found the distraught victim in the road at Kolb and Hannon Streets. The 57-year-old woman told police that she had been sexually assaulted while at the Sundance Spa.

The victim was able to give a good description and the suspect, 31-year-old Jorge Mauricio Dominguez, was arrested trying to get into his car parked on North Fremont early Monday morning.

Police said that Dominguez originally tried to break into the into the Cypress Massage Parlor before going across the street and breaking into a private area at the Sundance Spa where he then attacked the victim.

Dominguez was booked on charges of assault with intent to commit rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and attempted burglary.

He was also charged with two counts of burglary, one for the break-in at the Sundance Spa and an additional charge for a break in during the same time frame at Peninsula Pool Services and Supply.

Dominguez was found to be on probation and is being held without bail on a probation violation.
