PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. -

On Wednesday, Pacific Grove city council members said they’re directing staff to come up with a plan to ban plastic bags.  They will look at plans similar to the ones used in Monterey and Carmel.

The city said it will also look at options to charge for paper bags.

The council said it's waiting to see what happens with State Bill 270, which would charge for all bags used in the store.
