SEASIDE, Calif. -

A new mural at Del Rey Woods Elementary School features fruits, vegetables and images of physical activities, serving as a permanent reminder to live healthy.

Students worked with artist/retired educator Leela Marcum and muralist Chris King to paint the images on ceramic tiles, which were then installed into a wall mural. The finished mural was unveiled to students and the public Wednesday.

Del Rey Woods Elementary students are learning from health educators with the Monterey County Health Department to start right by eating healthy and moving more, school officials said. The mural will serve as a colorful reminder of the importance of making healthy choices.
