After surveying 11 different locations from Salinas to Seaside, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors made a decision on where to build the new juvenile hall.
Monterey County Chief Probation Officer Manny Real recommended the current location at Natividad Road for the future site. At Tuesday's meeting the Board of Supervisors voted to follow that recommendation.
He said that site is close to he juvenile court, Natividad Hospital and food services. Real also said that location is close to the county's transportation for family visitation.
The next step is for the county probation office to submit an application to the state.
