The Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hands initiative of the Community Foundation for Monterey County held its "Post-a-Smile" campaign from April 7-11 in schools throughout the county. The campaign was aimed at combating bullying and suicide by boosting self-esteem.

Students were to write anonymous positive messages on sticky-notes and post them at their schools in designated spot. Participants were encouraged to take pictures and tag them with #ghghmonterey to win a prize for the most creative posts.
