
SEASIDE, Calif. - Hundreds of small businesses are getting a big boost at California State University Monterey Bay. Over four hundred businesses took part in workshops at CSUMB to get help on winning state and federal bids. State leaders met with the small business owners to network and get a chance to boost their business. Owners say the program offers valuable insight on expanding their company. Experts said small businesses are the backbone of California's economy. 99 percent of the State's businesses are considered "small businesses" and they employ more than 7 million people.
