DIAMOND LAKE, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police have identified a California man killed and a woman injured when their car crashed into a tree off Highway 138 East near Diamond Lake earlier this week.
85-year-old Daniel Emanuel Youngberg of Long Beach, Calif., was pronounced dead a the scene of the collision on Wednesday afternoon. His 71-year-old companion, Jeanie Lucille King of San Diego, suffered a broken leg and was flown by air ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
She has been listed in serious condition at the hospital.
Oregon State Police Sgt. David Randall says they were just traveling through the area after leaving the Crater Lake area.
