Jake has called California his home state his entire life and he made a promise to himself that he wanted to start his journalism career out west.
He spent four years studying broadcast journalism in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
From Los Angeles, Jake grew up a diehard Dodgers' fan and wanted to be the next Vin Scully doing play-by-play. But, once he started taking journalism classes with a news-oriented platform, he fell in love with telling stories and the uncertainty of the business.
He loves telling stories because he loves listening to people tell their stories. If he says if he can help tell your story in the way you remember it, then he's done his job.
Since Jake has been a reporter for KION, he's realized that following a story all the way through and turning over every stone, is a feeling unmatched by anything else. He says he loves to dig and get it right.
Jake says he's proud to call the Central Coast his new home. From experiencing his first rodeo in Salinas to his first Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, he says it never gets old. Please contact him with story ideas!
