“News Never Stops.” That's Megan Munro’s mantra and she puts it to action by covering a variety of stories for NewsChannel 5. You can watch her each morning on Wake Up Central Coast from 5-7 a.m.
Megan is a San Luis Obispo native and is happy to be back on the Central Coast, after working for KSEE 24 in Fresno. Her reports included breaking news, celebrity cases and in-depth coverage on California's most controversial issues, including the high-speed rail project.
Megan started her career in Yuma, Ariz. anchoring and reporting in the Arizona desert turned out to be an amazing experience. Megan flew with the Patriots, toured the border with the Border Patrol and interviewed John McCain during his bid for reelection as United State Senator.
Before moving to the Desert Southwest, Megan lived in Las Vegas where she attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earned a degree in journalism.
Over the span of eight years and five different stations, she worked her way up from a newsroom assistant to a producer, reporter and anchor.
Megan is also a proud volunteer for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She has a deep passion for animals and actively works in animal shelters across the state to find homes for neglected animals.
When Megan isn't on the anchor desk, you can find her hiking through the Central Coast and enjoying the beaches with her rescued dachshunds, Henry and Bella.
