Q: When is Robertson Park Going to be Spruced Up?

Posted: Updated:

Salinas, CALIF.- East Salinas is home to a part of sports history: Gene Robertson Park.  It's seen more than 40 years of Little League games, including two softball World Series.  But for quite a while now, the park has been looking a little rough around the edges.

It turns out each Little League team in Salinas is responsible for keeping-up its own park.  The city of Salinas pays for the park to be built and maintains the grass, but everything else is up to the team.

Volunteers are slowly working to improve the park, but they say they can only do so much with limited funds.  If you'd like to help or donate, you can call Janet Wohlgemuth at (831) 809-3189 or send mail to: American Little League, 713 Colton Drive, Salinas, CA 93907.
