Santa Cruz Sheriffs ask homes to evacuate once again for hazardous materials

Posted: Updated:

SANTA CRUZ, Calif- A Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputy will ask people to evacuate their homes within the next 15 minutes once again after finding other hazardous materials in a nearby home that made them nervous. Homes within a 300 diameter will be asked to evacuate, however it is not mandatory.

This all started yesterday when a shipping company called the county environmental agency and told them this shipment was coming, Santa Cruz County Sheriffs responded.

An arrest warrant for other charges dealing with explosive materials will be issued for Stanley Vallelunga, 35, who was arrested last night for being under the influence of a controlled substance and then released.

Vallelunga had been previously arrested after a domestic violence standoff back in 2006. He lives at this house with his uncle and wife.
