No on Prop 8 Activist send Valentines

Posted: Updated:

Seaside, Calif- The Marriage Equality Monterey Peninsula organization celebrated Valentine's Day by keeping the no on prop eight campaign alive and in the hearts and minds of many, who are fighting to overturn the proposition that prohibits same sex marriage. Supporters are continuing the fight for equal rights and remain optimistic.

Reverend Greg Ward says that those who have been deeply affected by prop eight inspires him to keep fighting along with the rejuvenated energy of the nation.

"One of the things that give us positive energy is to know a new administration is in office a new feeling about what is happening in this country.

Saturday's events also included sending Valentine's Day cards to elected leaders asking for their support in securing marriage equality. The California Supreme Court is in the process of reviewing law suits against prop eight. The court's decision in the case will come within 90 days of the three-hour hearing, which will be held in San Francisco on May 24, 2009.

On Monday the organization is sending a dozen people from the central coast to the state's capitol to talk legislators. Activists say that they will not give up until all people have a right to get married.
