$100.000 Worth of Construction Equipment Stolen in King City

News Release From Monterey County Sheriffs Department

Over the weekend a construction sight located under the bridge that crosses over the Salinas River at highway 101 and Jolon Road, King City was burglarized.

This location is a consolidation point for storage of several general contractors' building supplies and equipment. The contractors were storing the items inside locked Conex boxes while retrofitting occurs on the bridge.

Unknown suspect(s) utilized a specialized fork lift at the scene and moved the conex boxes around during this construction sight burglary. Items consistent with bridge construction to include pressure washers, generators, chain saws, air monitors, trash pumps and personal hand tools were taken from inside of the locked conex's.

Almost $100,000 worth of equipment was taken in total. Some type of trucks(s) were needed to commit this burglary. The suspect(s) also had knowledge on how to operate an industrial-sized fork lift. Anyone who may have seen suspicious vehicles parked under the bridge at 101 and Jolon Road in King City or any type of suspicious activity in this location are urged to call Deputy Steve BERNAL or Deputy Arras WILSON at 831-385-8312.
