PSA Production Shoot in Seaside Not a Real Accident

Posted: Updated:

SEASIDE, Calif- Seaside was the backdrop for a local production company shooting a Public Service Announcement that could save your life.

In fact the PSA looked so real that several people driving by thought that a real fatal accident had occurred. Cars were flipped over and people were thrown to the ground.

The campaign is aimed at teen drivers, telling them to put down their cell phones and concentrate on the road. The non-profit group behind the campaign, Impact Teen Drivers, says distracted or reckless driving is the number one killer of teens.

Monterey-based Clear Blue studios is shooting the spot and they are using teens all across the state, including some locally, to get their message across.

Spencer Morris, a student as Salinas High School, helped to brainstorm ideas and will be acting in the commercial. Morris says, "I really think it's important that teens get the message of safe driving and not being distracted, and how really important it is and that it can be fatal."
