Santa Cruz, CA -During the months of October and November Girl Scout Troops from Santa Cruz, Live Oak, Bonny Doon, North Santa Cruz County, San Lorenzo and Soquel have taken on the project of collecting Coats For Kids.
For some this was a labor of love by participating in the 6:00 am Classic Car Cruise, The Halloween Splash for Coats, and others waved signs in early morning traffic and collected coats at local schools during the Make a Difference Week.
On Friday the Scouts swarmed upon Classic Cleaners 609 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz to deliver the collected coats for cleaning and distribution. Over 500 new and gently used coats have already been received from these local Girl Scouts! Bringing the current total over 3,000 coats for kids!
You can donate gently worn coats at any Classic Cleaners location until December 15, 2009
