
MOSS LANDING, Calif- A morning accident had traffic backed up for several hours and sent two people to the hospital.
At approximately 6:45 a.m. a 25 year-old Prunedale man was driving his Camaro at an unknown rate of speed northbound on Highway 1. According to CHP investigators he crossed the double yellow line in order to pass a 42 year-old woman driving a Mercedes. As oncoming traffic was approaching the man in the Camaro hit the Mercedes causing her to loose control.
A man driving a Dodge Ram southbound collided head on with the Camaro, followed by a woman in an Acura who collided with the Mercedes.
The driver of the Camaro was transported by ambulance to Watsonville Community Hospital, where he was taken by air to San Jose Regional with major injures, including two broken legs.
The driver of the Mercedes was transported to Watsonville Community Hospital with the complaint of pain.
