SALINAS, Calif- KION is going to the Michael Jackson Memorial.

More than 1.6 million fans registered and the odds of winning were about 1 in 183, but KION Weekend Meteorologist P. J. Javaheri was one of the lucky.

He learned that he had won tickets after wrapping up the 6PM broadcast. "It's a once in a lifetime experience" he said.  With in minutes of posting his good fortune on Twitter he had received several calls for interviews, including one from the CBS evening Show.

After an early departure at 5 AM P. J.  finally made it to LA around 1:30 PM. Ecstatic fans who won the lottery for seats at Tuesday's all-star memorial picked up their passes Monday at Dodger Stadium amid heavy police presence.

"I got the golden ticket!" one fan screamed out of his car window in a Willy Wonka moment as he drove out of the parking lot.

The stage has been set for Michael Jackson's final act as the world capital of make-believe braced for what could be the biggest, gaudiest celebrity send-off of all time.

The family announced the participants will include Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Usher, Lionel Richie, Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer and Martin Luther King III.

Downtown hotels were quickly filling. Police, trying to avoid a mob scene downtown, warned those without tickets to stay away because they would not be able to get close to the Staples Center.

If you are like the rest of us and did not get tickets don't fear KIONrightnow.com will be streaming the event live on our web site. We will also be including our exclusive coverage from inside the Staples Center.
