Tulare County closes 2 more schools over swine flu scare

Associated Press - May 1, 2009 9:44 PM ET

VISALIA, Calif. (AP) - Officials in Tulare County have closed two more schools over the swine flu scare even though no new cases of the disease have been found.

A county spokeswoman says Sunnyside Elementary School in Strathmore was closed today because a student had contact with a person with a probable or confirmed case of swine flu. Sunnyside did not say when it would reopen.

Woodville Elementary will be closed for a week to give health officials time to test a cluster of students there who have come down with flulike symptoms. None of those cases have yet been connected to swine flu.
