...Cooler weather through the weekend with below normal temperatures..then a little warmer....
Some low clouds and fog this morning cleared quickly and skies were mostly sunny. However temperatures were below normal near the coast and well below normal inland. Highs ranged from the upper 50s and 60s near the coast to the 70s inland. The pinnacles was the only exception with a high of 84 degrees this afternoon. Low clouds are beginning to form this evening and will spread inland later tonight as the marine layer redevelops. Low temperatures will be mostly in the 40s to lower 50s.
The upper trough continues over the west coast and will remain over the state through the weekend. With the unseasonably cool air aloft over the state, temperatures will continue below normal into next week.
The trough will weaken some by the weekend, but another weather system drops into the trough on Sunday and Monday. This will increase the onshore flow and bring cool temperatures through the holiday weekend. A weak cold front will move through the central coast and could bring a few showers Monday night and early Tuesday. Temperatures will continue well below normal through the holiday weekend into next week.
A weak ridge finally begins to build in over the central coast Wednesday and Thursday next week. That will result in a little warmer temperatures especially inland.
The outlook for 30th of may thorough the 7th of June calls for below normal temperatures and near normal precipitation which is little or none for this time of year.
